The PicoHarp 330 software can also be used under Linux (x86-64 only).
This requires that Wine is installed (see https://www.winehq.org)
as well as Libusb 1.0 (see https://libusb.info/).
You can then run the regular software setup as explained in the
PicoHarp 330 manual section 3.4. Instead of installing a device
driver, running under Linux with Wine requires that you have Libusb
1.0 installed (see https://libusb.info). The installer setup.exe
will attempt do detect Wine and then automatically skip the Windows
device driver installation. NOTE, however, that on newer Wine
installations this detection may fail. It is then important NOT to
install the device driver. You can de-select it at one of the initial
installer wizard pages or click cancel when the driver installation
wizard appears.

We have successfully tested these configurations:
- Wine 7.0 and Libusb 1.0.23 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Wine 8.0 and Libusb 1.0.25 on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Wine 9.16 and Libusb 1.0.27 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS See NOTE above

In order to set the access permissions to the device, use the udev
rules file provided here in the folder udev. For details please see
the PicoHarp 330 manual section 8.4. "Using the Software under Linux".
